Format and scoring
- Three stations, about 30 minutes in total, on the Qpercom video platform.
- Clinical station: two clinical questions.
- Ethics & communication station: two ethics questions, with communication scored throughout.
- Portfolio station: two questions on your portfolio and experience.
- Two panellists; a third panel member or Trainee Quality Assurer may observe, and a lay representative may attend without scoring.
- Your verified evidence score and your interview scores together decide your total score and ranking. The weighting is not published.
Before interview day4 checks
- Entry: MRCP(UK) Part 1 at application and the full diploma by the offer date, Internal Medicine Stage 1 (or ACCS-IM or equivalent), and 24 months in medical specialties including 12 months of acute medical in-patient care.
- Upload your evidence in the verification window. Consultants check it and can change your self-assessment score.
- Everyone is usually interviewed; if capacity is exceeded, only the highest-scoring applicants are invited.
- 2027 entry timeline: applications 19 November to 10 December 2026; evidence upload 11 December 2026 to 4 January 2027; interviews 24–25 March 2027; initial offers by 13 April 2027. Dates may change.
On the day2 checks
- Allow an additional 30 minutes in case of delays.
- The interview selection criteria include awareness of the basics of managing patients with cancer, an understanding of clinical governance, and a demonstrable interest in and understanding of the specialty.
