45 written topics and 4 scored practice questions, organised the way the interview is.
In the 2026 round (the latest published) the interview was online via Qpercom and lasted about 40 minutes: 5 minutes' reading, Station 1 — Clinical Prioritisation (15 minutes, four patients with a management plan for each), a 5-minute wait, then Station 2 — Structured Interview (15 minutes on targets and management, communication, challenges, and QI, research and teaching).
In 2026 you needed at least 50% in both sections and the first priority correct in clinical prioritisation. Self-assessment counted for 20% of the total score and each interview station for 40%.
The 2026 person specification requires MRCOG Part 1 by the 'initial offers released by' date, evidence of ST1 and ST2 competences, and at least 24 months whole-time equivalent experience in O&G by the post start date.
In the 2025 round NHS England reported 504 applications for 60 Obstetrics and Gynaecology ST3 posts, a competition ratio of 8.40.
