During a busy shift I try to integrate learning into clinical practice rather than seeing it as something separate. If I encounter a case that challenges me — such as recurrent DKA or severe hyponatraemia — I make a brief note and review the relevant guidelines or discuss the case with a senior afterwards. I also learn actively during handovers and MDT discussions by listening to senior reasoning and asking focused questions. I reflect on cases that didn't go smoothly and identify specific areas to read about, even if just 15–20 minutes later in the week. So I see learning as embedded in day-to-day clinical work rather than only happening in formal teaching sessions.
