My interest crystallised during my CMT placement when I cared for a young patient through a complex presentation from acute admission to clinic follow-up. Three pull factors confirmed it: the diagnostic challenge across systems, the longitudinal therapeutic relationships, and the breadth from acute resuscitation to chronic disease management. I have evidenced this commitment through a taster week with the regional team, a completed QI project on door-to-needle times that I presented at the regional meeting, a poster at the national society conference, and SCE preparation. Beyond ST4 I plan to subspecialise, contribute to clinical research building on my BSc, and develop as a clinical educator — I currently teach the FY1 induction. This is a deliberate, evidenced choice, not a default.
